Accessibility, usability & web standards

As well as complying with discrimination law, accessible website's make good business sense, opening your organisation to a huge online audience. In some markets people with disabilities can account for 20 percent of the population, and that's excluding the increasing number of elderly internet users.

I want everybody to be able access unXPOSEd's websites, without discriminating against people with disabilities, such as visual impairment, or older people with changing abilities due to aging. Users with visual, motor, mobility, developmental and learning disabilities should all have the right to perceive, understand, navigate, interact and contribute to the web.

This is why I have implemented a variety of different mechanisms to make this website available for everyone. It has been built and tested to work across all modern browsers, including those that are text only. Pages are fully scaleable, with adjustable text size. Text contrast can be turned up. Page styles can be turned off so that a purely text based version is available. Users with screen reading software can skip straight to the navigation or content. Images also have descriptions so that people without broadband can access this site, without waiting for images to download. Users can navigate using their keyboard only. This website will also print text in a large, clear format.

This website complies with all of the automatic checkpoints of the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, AAA-level standard. All pages are hand coded in valid XHTML 1.1 and CSS.
